Utilising a palliative care approach in the care home setting - Level HE5 (Validated by the University of Bolton)

Cost:

£248 per module

Duration: 15 week module - 6 taught evening sessions, 4 practice placements arranged by the student within the 15 week period, 6 hours of clinical facilitaton following completion of the course, where one of the teaching team works directly with the student, helping to support the integration of the theory into practice.

Course Information

The overall aim of this module is to introduce qualified staff working in care homes and small units to the principles and practice of palliative care relating to their specific client group. This module offers a unique and flexible approach to learning. The module is made up of a combination of taught sessions and a workbook. The workbook and sessions are interlinked and feed into each other.

Assessment: Completing the assessment in this module is optional. For students who take up the option they will be required to develop and complete a portfolio directly relating to their palliative care practice.
